Learning About HVAC Contractor Services

Hello, my name is Winnie Slone. Welcome to my site about HVAC contractor services. The HVAC equipment in my home was in a serious state of disrepair after living there for several years. I was absolutely clueless about the maintenance schedule required for each of the components. As a result, all of the filters and ducts were clogged with dust and debris. My HVAC contractor helped restore the function of each of the components in the system. I want to share the information I learned throughout that process to help others avoid making the same mistakes. Please visit again soon to learn more.

Find Out Why Your AC Fan Is Not Working

An AC unit has several components that enable it to cool your home. For instance, it uses the fan to blow and circulate conditioned air across the rooms in your house. Unfortunately, your fan may wear out over time, causing it to malfunction. This can result in inconsistent temperatures with weak or no airflow from the vents. Therefore, if you experience this, you should contact an AC expert for diagnosis. They will inspect the fan and fix the underlying issue to restore optimal operation. Below are some reasons your AC fan may not be working.

Tripped Circuit Breaker

The circuit breaker will trip if you overload your circuit with too many appliances. Moreover, pests and rodents can invade your AC's electrical conduit and destroy the wiring insulation. Consequently, electric wires may come into contact with each other, causing short-circuiting and triggering the circuit breaker. Similarly, an undersized circuit breaker will frequently trip as it cannot withstand the amperage from your AC. Subsequently, your unit will turn off, preventing the fan from functioning. Therefore, it would be best to consider AC repair services to fix the problem.

Faulty Fan Motor

The fan motor powers the fan, allowing it to spin and blow cool air through the vents. However, the motor in the condenser unit is prone to damage by outdoor elements. Over time, plant matter and other debris can accumulate, causing the motor to overheat. Additionally, water can penetrate the motor windings, causing their deterioration. As a result, the motor will fail, preventing the fan from spinning.

Broken Fan Blades

AC fan blades can deteriorate from normal wear and tear, causing them to bend or break. Furthermore, a foreign object can enter the fan compartment and damage the blades. Consequently, you will hear rattling noises as the blades hit the casing. If you fail to address the bent blades, they will break and hinder the fan's operation. Therefore, you should hire an AC contractor to replace the fan blades and use the proper fasteners to secure them.

Contactor Problems

A contactor controls the flow of electricity in your air conditioning system. Over time, contactors can malfunction, primarily when debris blocks the condenser unit and causes it to overheat. They can also become faulty from natural wear and tear, hindering their efficiency. As a result, they may stick to the 'UP' position, blocking electricity flow and preventing the fan from spinning.

When the fan stops working, it will impact your home's indoor temperatures and cooling. Therefore, hire an AC repair professional to inspect your unit and fix it for optimal performance.
