Learning About HVAC Contractor Services

Hello, my name is Winnie Slone. Welcome to my site about HVAC contractor services. The HVAC equipment in my home was in a serious state of disrepair after living there for several years. I was absolutely clueless about the maintenance schedule required for each of the components. As a result, all of the filters and ducts were clogged with dust and debris. My HVAC contractor helped restore the function of each of the components in the system. I want to share the information I learned throughout that process to help others avoid making the same mistakes. Please visit again soon to learn more.

3 Things To Do Before Turning On Your Air Conditioner This Season

If it's been a while since you've had the AC on, then now it's time to start thinking about any air conditioning repair you might need for the unit before it gets too hot out. Your air conditioner might be just fine, but you should still proceed with caution before you turn it on. Here are three things to do before turning on your air conditioner this season.

Have the strange sounds checked out

When's the last time you had an HVAC specialist out to your home to service your heating and cooling system and perform air conditioning repair on the noises it makes? If it's been more than a year, then you need to give that company a call. Usually, the company that installed your air conditioner will leave their contact information conveniently on the unit, but if not, you can easily look up a local company online to see if you can schedule an air conditioning repair appointment.

The strange noises your AC unit is making can be related to the motor, filters, or any other issue. Have the pros perform AC repair before you turn on your air conditioner this season.

Have the stench removed

Does your air conditioner release a weird odor when it's turned on? If the unit smells hot or you have a mildewy odor coming out of your air conditioner, this is cause for alarm and means AC repair needs to be done right away. Likewise, if your air conditioner smells sweet or has a 'wet' smell. It could mean some serious functioning issues, and these need to be remedied via air conditioning repair before you turn your unit on this year.

Have your energy use checked out

Go over your energy bill from the last few years and see if your energy usage has gone up dramatically during the summer months from one year to the next. As an air conditioner gets older, it starts to use up more energy. While you won't notice the changes right away, you will notice them if you go over past bills for the last few years and compare them. If you need air conditioner repair, your energy bills may be higher because your air conditioner is using more power than it should.

Call a local HVAC technician so you can get scheduled for AC repair before it gets too hot out. If parts need to be ordered, you'll have to allow time for that as well, so don't hesitate. Once you have the inspection done on your air conditioner, you can rest easy knowing your unit is ready to go for the whole season. Repairs can often be made the same day of inspection so long as they are minor.
